Heavy Pop reviews Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs – King of Cowards
King of Cowards delivers what Feed the Rats roughly promised as an insider tip from 2017 : The Newcastle-Upon-Tyne Rock'n'Roll'n'Totic Wine quintet with the penetrable name focused between mangy stoner and roaring Doom to the Heavy Psych-Hatz swelling brew finally ready to be able to take part in the genre spearhead.
With almost a similar amount of playing time, King of Cowards is up to twice the number of songs in direct comparison to Feed the Rats - distances of up to 9 minutes are actually in relation to previous chunks like The Wizard and the Seven Swines kept compact. However, this turn to increased handiness may well be converted as a whole to the development of the band.
Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs have learned in every way from the predecessor, whose advantages and inherited the shortcomings largely left behind, the songwriting not necessarily refined, but on a broader basis. Still dominate betweenBlack Sabbath and Motörhead roasting riffs from the Doom textbook brand Hey Colossus , Eagle Twin , Monolord , Part Chimp or Electric Wizard the drifting action, a hallucinating vintage Vibe ala Monster magnet shapes the perspective while frontman Matt Baty captures his dark lyrics in almost Conan 's battlefield style as hoarse Matt Pike screams out of the guitar mountains and neo-drummer Chris Morley has brought the motor groove of his ex-combo Gnod...

Watch video for new $hit and $hine track 'Mingler'
$hit & $hine have just revealed a video for 'Mingler' the second track to come from their forthcoming album 'Bad Vibes'. The album is released on 9 November and you can watch the video above.
'Mingler' sees $hit & $hine getting even more deep down & dirty Texan style, with heavy repetitious electro funk grooves that pile-drive you headfirst into the demented world of 1998 James Browns own head.... 'I Wanna Mingle' come Mingle with us!!
Read what Echoes & Dust have to say about it here: Echoes And Dust
$hit & $hine are hitting Europe for some shows to coincide with the release:
02 Nov / Mayhem / Copenhagen
03 Nov / Cafe Haerverk / Oslo
05 Nov / Cafe Central / Brussels
07 Nov / Cafe 12 / Geneva
08 Nov / Secret Location / Lugano
09 Nov / Tabtap / Schaffhausen
10 Nov / Paper Dress Vintage / London
Fresh from yet another demolition derby between high trash and the lowest avant-garde, ‘Bad Vibes’ is the sound of the $hit & $hine jalopy rocketing way beyond the speed limit on the lineage of the lysergic. Sunstruck abstract disco and pulverising 303-driven piledrivers lock horns with industrial-tinged murk. And frankly, you’d better either get on board or get well out of the way.
The album is available to preorder now on white/cyan splatter vinyl – ltd to 500 copies worldwide. We have some copies for pre-sale now via Bandcamp: here

Onda Rock reviews Anthroprophh's OMEGAVILLE
Do you like sound disasters? Do you love excursions into musical territories with a sinister charm? If, in both cases, the answer is positive, then you can not do without this new birth of the Anthroprophh , Bristol band led by that Paul Allen that many, perhaps, will already remember driving, at the end of the nineties, of the Heads, a powerful expression of a sound full of electricity and disfigured by stoner jolts .
Prepared and recorded, by the admission of the same Allen, under the influence of " Tago Mago " of Can , "Omegaville" is a two-faced herm where the tracks of the first album build colossal bastions of explosions, dilatations and heavy-psyched deformations . rock, whereas those of the latter rely on a more evocative and experimental sound .
The psychedelic garage-rock of the initial double "2029" / "Dead Inside" is a close relation both of the wildest Comets On Fire sorties and of the High Rise barrage fires and this, obviously, means having to go back to a whole series of Sonic barbaric destroyers: Jimi Hendrix , Blue Cheer, Hawkwind , Chrome and so on. The first minute of "Housing Act 1980" unrolls, instead, a punk ramalama , but it is only a prelude to the umpteenth intergalactic trip with flaming distortions, insistent drumming and feedbackas if it were raining. For their part, the evil and doomy plots of "Oakmoll"...

Joyzine interview Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs and reviews their Rough Trade East show
They say:
We arrived at Rough Trade East with sound check in progress and the shop very much open for business and busy with shoppers browsing the racks of CDs and vinyl. It could not be said that the bearded gentleman behind the drum kit on the small raised stage at the back of Rough Trade East was merely ‘tickling” the drums, on the contrary he was hitting them so hard that he’d driven the even the most eager shoppers back from the two racks of CDs closest to the stage. Whist I seriously considered ferreting around in the camera bag for the ear plugs, this little vignette played out…
Sound Engineer: “That’s great. Do you play anything softer on the toms?”
Christopher Morley (Drummer) noticeable delay before deadpan delivery: “….No.”
(Cheer from the shop floor…)
Welcome to the world of Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs.
I came to Rough Trade fully expecting some seriously loud psych-rock and it looked from the very outset that I wasn’t going to be disappointed..
Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs are: Matt Baty (Vocals); Sam Grant (Guitar); Adam Ian Sykes (Guitar); Christopher Morley (Drums) and John-Michael Hedley (Bass). Hailing from Newcastle, the porcine quintet have just begun touring the UK and Europe to celebrate the release of their second album, King of Cowards which was released on Rocket Recordings on the 28th September.
So I have to ask the question you must have been asked many times before… Where did the name come from?...

Raven Sings The Blues reviews Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs – King of Cowards
They say:
Newcastle’s Pigsx7 tear another hole in the fabric of reality with their sophomore LP for Rocket Recordings. The impossibly named band takes another swipe at their potent mix of Monster Magnet sludgelord psychosis bonded to the give no fucks, take no prisoners mentality of Motorhead. While that seems like a rather tall order to live up to, the band keeps pace here for six monstrous tracks that come on with the apocalyptic heat of a Mad Max location scouting. The songs on King of Cowards, based loosely on the idea of deadly sins and moral corruption, swing wild with a looser feel than those on their predecessor Feed The Rats. The band convened in the Italian countryside to commune with the dirt before laying down these tracks and the country air and lack of neighbors seems to have let them crank the throttle quite a bit and work out a sense of improvisation that licks the knife edge with a sense of danger.
The band brings ex-Gnod drummer Chris Morley into the fold this time around and his animalistic beat works to fuel the band’s appetite for action. While they keep those doom clouds rumblin’ they’re tethered much closer to to Terra Firma this time, scratching the pavement rather than rippling through the godheads themselves. Pigsx7 are still not ones for brevity, but they’re keeping it under the ten minute mark everytime, coming nowhere near Rats’ sidelong ozone-...

Echoes and Dust reviews Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs and Bonnacons of Doom live at the Moth Club
They say:
Matt Baty of Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs observes his shiny golden waistcoat (“Bobby Dazzler”) complements the MOTH Club’s glittery ceiling, while this also extends to blend in with the bright golden streamers backdrop. Initially a setting more suitable for magicians producing rabbits out of top hats, it turns out to be a fittingly memorable choice for Rocket Recordings’ big box of magical music discoveries to continue such unearthing, with Pigs x 7’s sophomore album King of Cowards and a sold-out album-launch party. With fellow label-mates Bonnacons of Doom in support, it propels an evening’s journey into a memorable head-on collision of all-absorbing, rollicking, heavy and mesmerising sounds.
Over at Echoes and Dust’s twin towers, practically anything released by Rocket Recordings is greeted with an eager anticipation and wide-eyed enthusiasm. This exuberance has spilled widely into tonight’s proceedings, where the thrills and tingle of an electric atmosphere feels more than just the general joys of a Friday night and the prospects of an imminent weekend. Am I saying something is brewing? There is an undeniable buzz currently surrounding both the band and label...
