The press release reads:

JOSEFIN ÖHRN+ THE LIBERATION
SUNNY AFTERNOON
(LAUNCH091)

Josefin Öhrn + The Liberation is a Swedish band, fronted by Josefin Öhrn alongside Fredrik Joelson who heads up a collection of musicians called The Liberation.

In the last twelve months, the band have experienced a dramatic rise to prominence with their debut album Horse Dance and single Take me Beyond that received heavy rotation on BBC 6 Music daytime airwaves. Now Josefin Öhrn + The Liberation return with the track Sunny Afternoon the
second single taken from the album.

Sunny Afternoon takes a tribal ‘Can meets Adam and the Ants’ like beat, fuzz bass, heavy synths and piano to create a gothy, psych pop groove that calls to mind late 70s ‘Siouxsie and the Banshees’ mixed with 90s space rockers ‘Laika’.

The B side is an unreleased track called Lucid Sapphire. The track is centred around an urgent and repetitive fuzz punk riff that is underpinned with a motorik beat and screaming synths. Josefin’s whispered vocal and harmonies adds an ethereal quality that creates a tension with the music.

Josefin Öhrn + The Liberation have several prominent European Festivals confirmed in 2016 plus a full European tour is to be announced soon. The band have also just finished recording new material that will be released in the summer.

So 2016 looks to be another good year for Josefin Öhrn + The Liberation.
